Reading to Little Kids

Want to make a little kids day? Read them a book.  If you are interested in recording yourself reading a children's book, please email Mrs. Ferguson. sferguson@ledyard.net  , she will give you the Flipgrid code and let you know what you need to do.  If you don't have a children's book at your house but still want to participate, please email Mrs. Ferguson and she will try to make it work for you.

Yearbook:

The deadline to order the Yearbook is April 30th, you still have time…you can go to ybpay.lifetouch.com and our LMS Code is 11502220. 

Mr. Allen would love for you all to send him some pictures of your new way of schooling…if you or your parents have taken photos of you doing schoolwork at home, in your new “homeschool” please send them to tallen@ledyard.net.  After all, this story is part of your year, and will be featured in the Yearbook!

Welcome to Ledyard Middle School

Welcome to the Ledyard Middle School webpage. It is my sincere hope that you find it to be helpful and informative. As you peruse the site whether it be seeking a particular piece of information, or to find out more about our learning community and our offerings, please feel free at any time to provide feedback. It is a goal here at LMS to better serve our students and families, and to make all feel connected and integral to the education of our children.

The school year is off to a fantastic start. Our new schedule is running smoothly, and all of our programs are being received by the students with eagerness and enthusiasm. It is surely going to be a good one! As you can imagine, we have a number of areas of emphasis that will consume a substantial amount of our attention and focus this year. Among these are the following:

-Identify and implement leadership opportunities for staff via curriculum work and professional development activities.

-Improve communication with families via the school website, teacher websites, and social media.

-Expand technology offerings/opportunities for students.

-Enhance learning opportunities in all content areas by incorporating the “4 C’s” (Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration).

-Revise the social studies curriculum to align with new standards.

In addition to these goals, we here at LMS are always mindful of the overall experience our students have. As such, we are continually promoting and attending to the development of the “whole” child, and seeking ways to meet each and every student where s/he is. Our students come first, and our staff is second to none. Ledyard Middle School truly is an amazing place to be, and I am honored and proud to serve a community as committed to its kids as Ledyard.
