LIP SYNC BATTLE- The 2nd Annual LMS Lip Sync Battle is right around the corner.  Students who are interested in competing in the Lip Sync Battle on January 26th need to submit an application. The deadline to do so has been extended to Monday January 22nd. Students interested in performing in the competition must stay after school today to have their acts screened by Mr. Reilly. There is also a mandatory rehearsal, with DJ JD, this Thursday. Students who have conflicts, and can't attend today's after-school session, must see Mr. Reilly.

COLLEGE WEEK- College Week will be held the week of January 22nd-26th and hopefully your son/daughter will be excited about the possibility of attending college someday! Here are some of the activities they will participate in: College “Word of the Day” in the morning announcements, SAT problem of the day in the Media Center (with a treat for trying), HW assignment on college that we hope you will help with ☺ ; college “fight” songs played every morning, college signs posted on all lunch tables on Friday. All students & staff are invited to wear college t’s or sweatshirts also on Friday. We have been asking colleges for donations for quite awhile and anyone who returns their HW assignment will have their name placed in a raffle for various college t’s, pennants, and trinkets. The 8th graders will participate in a classroom lesson where they will discuss what colleges will be looking for and then conduct a college search on Naviance. We hope you will have a chance to see our Guidance bulletin board!  We have collected pictures of our teachers & staff from their college days. We also have a map of the U.S. with tags for each teacher designating what their college major was and where they went to school.  On the last day, each teacher will spend about 5’ of class time explaining their career path and college/major choice to their students. By the end of the day your child will have heard at least five different career/college stories to learn from.

LMS YEARBOOK- The LMS yearbooks are now on sale. The cost is $37. You may purchase yearbooks either online on the LMS website or by bringing in a check or cash to Mr. O'Brien or Mr. Allen. Checks must be made out to LMS.
